Project Overview.
Mighty Hotdog is a fast-casual Korean-style hotdog brand located in Auckland New Zealand. I worked with Mighty Hotdog as a freelance designer to refresh their menu using existing brand guidelines. Alongside the menu layout, I fully retouched and composited their product images to make each item look cleaner, brighter, and more appetising.
My Role:
Menu layout design (following existing brand guidelines)
Product image editing and retouching
Preparing final artwork for print and digital display
Ensuring brand consistency across typography, colour, and layout
Product Photo Editing
The goal was to make each product look consistent, fresh, and visually appetising—ready for use across menus, posters, and promo screens.
Composite editing: blending multiple shots to get the best texture, cheese stretch, or filling exposure
Shape/structure clean-up: fixing uneven edges, broken crumbs, and damaged coating
Lighting correction: evening out harsh shadows, adjusting exposure and contrast
Colour enhancement: making the fried coating look crisp and golden, improving colour balance
Product isolation: creating clean cut-outs for both white-background and colour-background layouts
Retouching fillings: enhancing cheese pull, chocolate filling shine, and sausage texture
Removing imperfections: crumbs, burn spots, excess oil, messy edges, etc.
